Solar News:
Dr Grady's 2008 renewable energy conference at the University of Texas at Austin included a presentation by HelioVolt, a new startup thin film solar technology company here in Austin Texas whose technology is a result of research funded by NASA. The opening of this talk discussed the topic of "Peak Oil" and showed a World Oil Timeline that gives a sense of how fast oil resources are being depleted. Dr Grady's web site should soon have the presentations given at the renewable conference posted on his web page. Dr Edgar has posted a Heliovolt presentation given to his University of Texas (energy policy) class. Drs Grady, Edgar, and I have high hopes the Helivolt company can bring down the cost of solar energy so that it can soon make a major contribution to restoring America's energy independence.
